As many of you know, working out was never at the top of my list of things to do! However, an unexpected medical diagnosis of IBS quickly made me realize that I needed to change most of my habits, including how I spent the time I had each and every day. While I would do a quick yoga class here and there in the past, I never considered it working out. I also didn’t think about how many benefits it held for me, way more than just checking off “I worked out this week” on my to-do list. Once I chose to completely change my mindset, I discovered that yoga would help me in more ways than I could ever imagine. Not only did I start doing yoga more regularly, I also changed my eating habits, sleeping habits, and the amount of time that I spent staying out at bars.
More About My Journey to Health and Wellness
I was diagnosed with IBS a few years ago. This medical condition was a result of my teenage and young adult years, which I spent eating terrible foods. Yes, they were enak and delicious to me at the time, but guess what? I am not as invincible as I thought I was!
Imagine grabbing a cup of cappuccino made with white sugar, fake vanilla, and dry powdered milk from a machine in the morning. That was me every single day and then I never ate anything else until the end of the day when I returned home from work. Of course, my dinner was not much better, because the only requirements I had was that it was crunchy, quick, and easy to grab.
As soon as I finished crunching away, I would fall into bed and try to sleep until morning.
I suppose given my awful lifestyle and habits at the time that I shouldn’t have been surprised with the IBS diagnosis, but at the time, I was. To make things worse, the doctors told me that I would need to take multiple medications for the rest of my life. It was that news that made me say, “Enough is enough, you have got to make some serious changes girl!”
I immediately changed my eating habits and signed up to take Yoga Teacher Training. This pelatihan did more than improve my yoga. It also helped me see how yoga could help me throughout life, besides just my regular workout routines. It was also through this very traditional yoga school that I learned that you do not need to be completely flexible to be good at yoga. While yoga is very good for flexibility, it is more of a practice of your mind, body, and soul connecting.
Because of yoga I am now capable of accepting my imperfections and limitations and embrace them completely. I have also started meditating and my newfound mindfulness has led me to discover that only I can attract the things that I desire in my life. I am currently working on an entire guided meditation course that will teach others to learn how to be successful during meditation. I feel that it is important for everyone to realize and understand that they can achieve their goals, clarify their desires, and turn those things into reality with meditation sessions.
My journey has not been easy, but there have been certain things that have made it so much better. Every day is a new journey into wellness and yoga and finding brands like Vast Terrain helps me pursue my new yoga goals with confidence because my clothes are so comfy and feel like they are custom fit.
Vast Terrain Activewear
Vast Terrain’s activewear is made in the United States in factories along the east and west coasts. There are six factories in all and each one specializes in a specific part of the manufacturing process. This bit of information really got me interested in the merk because it showed how carefully and detail based they craft every piece of clothing!
There are so many things to love about this activewear, but one of my favorites is the materials they use. Every single pair of their leggings is made from a super soft and lightweight fabric called Mollia. This is their signature fabric and I know that you will love it as much as I do! As soon as you slide into these leggings, you will notice that they have the proper amount of stretchiness for you! They will not bunch or feel too tight, like leggings made from other materials.
I can’t tell you how thrilled I was when I pulled on my first pair of Vast Terrain leggings, because it was the first time that I felt like a pair of leggings were made especially for me. Usually leggings are made for one body type, and well, I do not meet those standard body type requirements!
Vast Terrain also uses XeroHydro, which keeps moisture away from your body. XeroHydro will keep you cool, even if you are in the middle of the most intense workout of your life. Imagine taking a hot yoga class and not having to worry about overheating from your clothing choice halfway through. I was amazed when I wore my Vast Terrain activewear to a hot yoga class and now I refuse to wear anything else!
Now, I don’t know about you, but my workout clothes can get a little stinky from the time that I spend in them. Vast Terrain has solved this kasus for me though by using Argentum in their activewear. Argentum is an antimicrobial fabric that prevents 99.99% of odor and bacteria. The best part is that the Argentum will not wash away, because it includes silver salts that are EPA approved and they are embedded right into the fabric itself. Here’s to no more smelly clothes when they finally make their way out of your gym bag!
Vast Terrain has quite the activewear selection for both men and women, but I have fallen in love with a specific pair of their leggings, shorts, and tank. I love all the other options that they have available, but the three I am going to share with you are my absolute faves!
The Excel 7/8 Legging in Patriot Blue is a dream to slide your legs into and the support will easily get you from morning until night. In fact, I dare you to put these on in the morning for work and see how they can easily get you through your day until you climb into bed after a long evening. A huge bonus to these comfy leggings is that since the Excel 7/8 leggings are made with flatlock stitching, I never have chafing between my thighs.
On those warmer, and yes, hotter, days, I forgo the leggings and simply slide into Vast Terrain’s Velox 5” Shorts in Burgundy. These shorts are the perfect length, so I never have anything showing, even in the most provocative yoga pose. The Mollia fabric is also used for these shorts, so don’t worry about sweat showing up in the wrong spots! I’ve never looked like I have had an accident in these! My favorite part about these shorts is that Vast Terrain has added a key pocket in the front. This ensures that you can easily carry your key with you without accidentally losing it or dropping it along the way.
The Aeris Technical Tank in Burgundy is my go-to shirt at any time of the year when I am working out, because I love the silky feel of the material. Of course, the racerback style doesn’t hurt, and it makes me feel so much more comfortable during any type of workout. The best part though is the Argentum fabric, which ensures that no part of this shirt stinks, even after my most intense workouts. In fact, I can easily hang out with friends in the studio after a yoga class without needing to change my clothes first!
If you have been searching for the perfect activewear for your workouts, or something to inspire you to want to start or continue on your own yoga journey, or even just to hang out and run errands in, then you need to visit Vast Terrain. I know that you will love this activewear as much as I do and that it will help you take your workouts to the next level.
