I love to travel, and I have jetted off to so many faraway destinations around the world. However, my upcoming trip to Trivandrum, India is one that I have been dreaming about for a long time! This is going to be such a spiritual trip, where I can deepen my knowledge in many areas, especially astrology.
I plan on visiting seven Indian temples during my visit, but Attukal Bhagavathy Temple, Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Sreevallabha Temple, and Kanyakumari Temple are at the top of my list. While I am at each individual temple, I plan to take the time that I need to focus on myself, my surroundings, and what I need to do to hand all my worries over to the one that can assist me in taking care of them all.
As excited as I am about this phenomenal experience, I know that I need to be prepared for my upcoming journey. That means that I need to take the time in advance to plan every single detail, down to what essential I need to take with me.
Everyone seems to have their own list of essential items, which is fine, but I can tell you that at least two or three of mine should be on everyone’s travel packing list.
Here are the 6 essential items I am taking to Trivandrum, India:
My Fitkicks Shoes
If you travel as much as I do, you know that good shoes are key to making it through any vacation! I don’t know what I would do without my Fitkicks each day, which is why I am making sure that they will be on my feet the day that I leave for Trivandrum! These shoes have an extraordinary flexform sole that will make you forget that you are even wearing shoes. Once I put these on in the morning, which is simple since they just slide right on, I know that I can tackle anything on my to-do list.
I know that I am going to love being able to hike along the trails near the temples, do any yoga pose that I desire, and even meditate without needing to slip these babies off at all through the day. Plus, if I happen to get them dirty, I can wash them quickly and they will be dry in no time!
Sunblock
Sunblock is a necessity whenever I travel, unless I am going somewhere that is cloudy and the sun never shines. I even pack this necessity when I am going somewhere with a lot of snow, because the glare of the sun dancing off the snow has been known to give people sunburns. I will throw my sunblock into my luggage and it will be one of the first things that I take out when I arrive in Trivandrum. Many people will only take one bottle with them, but I like to take a couple, so that I know that I have enough of my favorite merk when I am away from home.
A Power Adapter
While I am going to be focusing on spirituality during my trip, I am also going to want to find a way to keep a few things charged. Since India has different power outlets than I need for my devices, I know that I will need a power adapter. I figure that it is best if I purchase one in advance and take it with me, so I do not need to scramble once I arrive in the country. Plus, it will allow me to know that I have a quality merk power adapter instead of a cheesy look alike that will fry anything that I plug in. Now remember, just because I have it doesn’t mean that I will be on social media all day long! Only when I absolutely need to be!
Ear Plugs
Many travelers love to take ear plugs with them for sleeping on the plane, but in India, a person may want to wear them all the time. I am not sure what I will be doing as of yet, but I know that India can be loud! Drivers honk to tell other drivers that they are coming and there is always some sort of yelling to go along with the bells at the temples. I think that I may need a few pairs of ear plugs to get through my visits to the temples and have the solitude that I desire.
Silk Pillow Cases
I happen to love my silk pillow cases, which is why they will make their way into my luggage for my trip to Trivandrum. They are perfect for restful sleep and while they are known to prevent face wrinkles, they are also amazing at toning down bedhead. Yes, the dreaded bedhead that I am not going to want to deal with when I am on a spiritual vacation in India! I want to wake up with my hair looking just as beautiful as it did when I went to bed the night before.
These are the six essential items that I know will be making their way into my bags for my trip to Trivandrum, India. They will all make my life so much easier when I get there, and I can’t wait to share all my newfound knowledge with you all when I return!
